The City of Whittier recently approved re-opening oil drilling in the Whittier Hills above the city. Our client, Matrix Oil, sought permission to recapture millions of gallons of oil left by drilling operations started over a hundred years ago. Whittier, like many cities around the country, is struggling to meet the costs of virtually all city services. The Whittier Oil Project could provide hundreds of millions to the city and the County of Los Angeles.
